Reg Warrener

Reg grew up in Scarborough and went to the Graham Sea Training School. In 1940 he went into the army and was in the First Airborne Division. He was a prisoner of war in Mulberg, Germany, until he was freed by the Russians in 1945. In 1948 he went back into the army Royal Engineers and served in the Middle East. He was an NCO in Coldyhill Lane Barracks and then in bomb disposal. When he retired from the army he was one of the first traffic wardens in Scarborough. In full retirement he fished and was a warden at the Wilsons Mariners Homes for 15 years where this recording took place in 2007.
