Tune for a dying man - "Are we to die like this".
A woman dressed in deep black told the Willesden magistrate on Monday that she was the widow of a man who recently complained that the landlady was trying to "gramaphone him out of his flat". She hadned the bench the press cuttings of the case.
She stated that the landlady was keeping up her htreat to gramaphone them out. Her husband died last week and as he was dying she put of the record "Are we to part like this, Bill?" He then died and she played "God pays his debts without money" and in the interval between records all the family sang hymns outside her door. The gramaphone was playing continuously.
